Has anybody ever been to the tomb of Gilgamesh and saw his remains in that video that allegedly showed King Gilgamesh’s body? Is Gilgamesh real?
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, no credible archaeological evidence or verified accounts of anyone discovering the tomb or remains of King Gilgamesh, a legendary figure from ancient Mesopotamian literature, have been found. The story of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest known pieces of literature, originating from ancient Sumer (modern-day Iraq) and dating back to around 2100-2000 BCE. Gilgamesh is a semi-mythical figure, and many aspects of his story are legendary and not historically verifiable.
There have been occasional claims and rumors of the discovery of Gilgamesh's tomb or remains, but none of these claims have been substantiated by credible archaeological or historical sources. Scholars generally consider Gilgamesh to be a mythical or legendary figure rather than a historical one.
It's important to be cautious about sensational claims regarding historical figures and events, especially when there is no solid archaeological or historical evidence to support them. Science and archaeology continue to uncover new information about the past, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
